AI in the classroom, handled honestly

Your students are already using it. This session gives teachers the same fluency — for preparation, differentiation and assessment — and helps the school decide what it will actually permit.

Who it is for

Built for these teams

Whole staff rooms rather than individual enthusiasts — this works best adopted together.

Primary and secondary teachers

Lesson preparation, differentiated worksheets, practice questions, reading-level adaptation and marking support across subjects.

School leadership

Setting a position the staff can apply consistently and defend to parents, governors and inspectors.

Universities and vocational schools

Assessment design that stays meaningful, plus supporting students in using AI as a study tool rather than a shortcut.

Administrative staff

Communication with parents, reports, documentation, funding applications and the paperwork that surrounds teaching.

Before we start

What we need from you

Bring the material you already teach from.

  • For a workshop, a laptop per participant or one between two — a computer room works well. For a lecture nobody needs one.
  • Real teaching material: a lesson plan, a worksheet, a text you set, an assessment rubric. Whatever you would otherwise prepare this week.
  • Your current position on student AI use, if there is one — even an informal one. If there is none, that is a normal starting point.
  • The curriculum or standards you work against, so generated material lines up with what you are required to cover.
  • Free accounts on any AI tool are enough for the exercises; if you already pay for licences we will adapt the session to them. No technical background required.

Format

Lecture or workshop, on site or online

Four hours, as a lecture or a hands-on workshop, at your school or online — unlimited participants either way.

How we run it

Lecture

We present the topic and work through the examples on screen. Best when you want a whole department to understand what AI can do without everyone needing a laptop in front of them.

Workshop

Your people work on their own computers and build a real automation task themselves, while we move around the room and help each of them get it finished. Fewer topics covered, far more that sticks.

Where it runs

At your office

We come to you anywhere in Czechia or Slovakia and run the session in your own meeting room, on your own machines. If you have no projector, or no screen large enough for the room, we bring our own.

Online

The same session over video, screen-shared and recorded on request. Best for distributed teams, several sites at once, or when calendars are tight.

Split into blocks

Four hours in one sitting is the standard, but we can split the training into two two-hour blocks on separate days so it fits around your operations.

Schools usually book this as a lecture for the whole teaching body at once, since the policy discussion needs everyone in the room to be worth having. Departments that want to build their own materials then follow up with a workshop, where teachers produce differentiated worksheets on their own laptops with us helping. Either way we can split it into two two-hour blocks across separate afternoons, which fits the school timetable better.

Agenda

How the day runs

Practical classroom use first, institutional policy second.

00:00 – 00:40

What the tools do — and what students are doing with them

A grounded look at current capability, plus an honest account of how students actually use AI for homework and coursework. No scaremongering and no dismissal.

00:40 – 01:45

Preparation and differentiation

Lesson plans against curriculum points, worksheets at three ability levels from one source, practice and exam questions, and adapting a text for a different reading age — worked on your own material.

02:00 – 02:50

Assessment and feedback

Building rubrics, speeding up marking while keeping judgement human, and writing report comments that stay personal. We are explicit about where AI must not be the decision-maker.

02:50 – 04:00

School policy on student use

Designing assessments that remain meaningful, why detection tools are not evidence, what to permit and forbid, and drafting the position you will publish to students and parents.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Should we simply ban AI for students?

A blanket ban is unenforceable and, in our view, a missed opportunity — but that is your decision, not ours. What the session gives you is a clear-eyed account of the options and their consequences, plus a policy draft for whichever position your school takes.

Can AI detection tools tell us if a student cheated?

Not reliably enough to accuse anyone. False positives are common and fall hardest on non-native speakers and students who write plainly. We cover why they fail and what to do instead, which mostly means changing how work is set.

Is it appropriate to use AI for marking?

For support, yes — drafting feedback, checking consistency against a rubric, spotting things you missed at eleven at night. For the grade itself, no. The course is explicit about that line and why it matters.

Do we need to be a technical school for this to be relevant?

No. The examples come from ordinary teaching across subjects, and no technical background is assumed. Language, humanities and primary teachers usually find the most immediate use.

Can you run this as part of a staff development day?

Yes — that is how most schools book it. We can also split it into two two-hour blocks on separate afternoons if a full day is impossible, and we will fit the timing around your timetable.
